#5 - High Voltage
⚡ High-voltage measurement in industrial environments
When working with kilovolt-level signals, the system handles not only electrical signals but also stored energy. In such cases, safety is not an add-on — it's a core requirement. Key considerations include:
🔹 Voltage must always be reduced using a divider and galvanic isolation before signal processing
🔹 Charged capacitors pose a risk even after the measurement ends → proper discharge is essential
🔹 Multiplexing and signal processing steps should only be applied once the signal has been reduced to a safe, low-voltage level
🔹 The system must ensure at all times that the operator cannot come into contact with hazardous potential
ProDSP's high-voltage measurement systems integrate these principles throughout the architecture, ensuring that measurement remains not only accurate but also safe.
