#17 - Homogenity Testing
🖥️ Homogeneity Testing: how do we detect the smallest defects in displays?
When testing displays and LED panels, a fundamental task is checking the quality and homogeneity of the emitted image. This is why we perform:
🔹 Pixel defect detection
– identifying burned-in, stuck, or non-functioning pixels
🔹 Mura testing
– mapping spots, discolorations, and luminance variations
To achieve this, a specialized measurement system is required:
📸 High-resolution camera – pixel defects can only be isolated this way
🌑 Dark environment – all external light must be eliminated
💻 Special image-processing software – often more expensive than the camera itself
Optical homogeneity testing is one of the most costly yet most critical elements of display quality inspection. If you need this type of testing or an AOI system, feel free to contact us. 🤝
