#30 - DC Voltage Excitation

🔋 DC Voltage Excitation
In many test tasks, there is no need to deliver significant power
(< ~50 mA); however, an accurate and stable reference voltage is required.

🔹 Typical applications:
– Simulation of sensor signals
– Testing ADCs within the DUT
– Verification of reference points

🔹 Primary considerations:
– Output accuracy and stability
– Power capability is secondary

🔹 Possible instruments:
– PC analog output card
– Function generator
– Precision power supply

🔹 System-level questions:
– With multiple channels, is a differential output required?
– Or is a shared ground potential acceptable?

DC excitation may appear simple, but accuracy- and topology-related decisions directly affect the measurement results, so it is worth paying close attention to them.
